Orion
10/6/11

When I hear the word “friend”, Connor immediately
comes to mind.  Connor has been my friend for a long time, probably ever since I came to Trinidad School which was in third grade.  One of the reasons Connor and I are good friends is because we have a lot of things in common.  We both skateboard, we both like to eat a lot of the same things like pizza, ice cream, and cookies.  We also live close to each other which gives us more time and possibilities to hang out together.
Even though it seems as if Connor and I are exactly the same, we are not.  We have our differences.  I remember one time in third grade where he and I  were hanging out on the playground, then, all of a sudden he called me a name that he had just learned, and it hurt my feelings because I was not used to being called names back then.  For a couple of days I stayed away from him and hung out with my other friends.  Played games with other people.  Well, maybe i needed a break?   I said to myself that I would never hang out with him again, but of course this was not true because his good humor and his funny attitude made me and him go back to being buddies again.  I guess he didn’t take it as seriously as I did, because he was the one who said he was joking and that we should be friends again which made me feel better in a way.
We were now back to our old selves, walking the track, hanging out together, being friends.  This is how it should be.
Well I guess a true friend can never be exactly the same as his buddy.  Not one human being can be entirely different from one another, also.  Connor and I are friends today, and we will definitely be friends tomorrow, and maybe for the rest of our lives.
